About Evan
Hey! I’m Evan, a Korean-American actor from Alexandria, Virginia. I’m currently a senior at Missouri State University pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre along with a certificate in Acting on Camera.
I’m extremely passionate about acting, as well as health and fitness — so much so that I became a NASM-certified personal trainer. When I’m not working on my acting and singing, I’m usually watching random YouTube videos about science, math, or the NBA. I’m so into math and science that I came very close to pursuing a career in STEM! I’m glad I chose the path I did, though — my life is more fulfilling because of it.
My wide range of interests fuels my creativity and often leads me down new avenues, including voiceover work. I’ve always loved video games, especially ones with rich stories, and that passion sparked a desire to one day voice characters in the kinds of games that first inspired me. Whether it’s making nonsensical sounds as a mushroom in Hollow Knight or voicing a character across three acts like in Baldur’s Gate 3, I want to do it all.
I’ve always been able to connect to a story, no matter the medium. It started when I watched Adventure Time as a kid, continued with One Piece as I grew up, and eventually led me to my favorite musical of all time, Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812. That musical was the first thing to pierce through the emotional walls I had built over the years. It put a temporary “hole in the dam” and allowed me to release emotions I didn’t realize I was holding. I quickly learned that storytelling does more than just make people smile.
Entertainment — whether stage, film, television, or video games — is something people look forward to after a hard day. When I’m having a tough week, I think about the show I’m going to see at the end of the month or the next episode of the anime I’m watching, and I feel at ease. Entertainment has a unique ability to uplift spirits and create connections between people. As a creator and performer, I hope to fulfill that need for anyone who sees my work.
If there’s a story to tell, I want to be part of it.
